loco4coues Report post Posted October 8, 2009 mulies or coues too, I've been looking around on google earth and see some good country, just don't know where they should focus their efforts: cordes junction? dewey? mayer? crown king? they went up last week around big bug mesa and around prescott, just driving some roads, they saw 55 deer only 7 small bucks, but it was just real thick... any ways, I am just trying to help them out with some starting points since I will be on my own hunt at the same time. catclaw Report post Posted October 10, 2009 My son had it the past two years and it was dismal for us. The only nice bucks we found were in a burn and the stupid sheriff closed the road the day we went in to hunt them. Saw lots of does, very few bucks bigger than spikes. He has the other side of the highway this year. We glassed for hours above Skull Valley and saw nothing. I have written it off.
king4wd Report post Posted October 11, 2009 I agree with buglethemin. If you want to glass try that area. Big bug mesa is good but gets packed real bad! you might try some of the brush country around pine flat and along the whole mayer goodwin rd. I know that area is full of cats and where there is cats there's got to be deer. Another place that is decent glassing is on the 20a side of the road up to crown king. Hope this helps.
