PSEps Report post Posted October 7, 2009 The hunt all started back in june when I got a call from a dad of a kid who drew a youth only ibex hunt in NM. I have been guiding in the Florida mountains of NM for 5 years and have taken a total of 15 ibex for my clients. I took my client out on October 3rd and we got on a group of 100 ibex. We got on the ibex at around 6p.m, and he took the first shot at 7p.m. The shot was at about a 60 degree angle at 310 yards. The first shot struck the billy right behind the shoulder. By the time we got up to where the billy was standing it was too dark to see, so we decided to come back the next day and find him. It was tough finding blood the next day, because it had rained, but eventually picked up a good trail. This ibex ran about 200 yards before dying.
