I look to see a nice bull, but all I see is an advertisement.

Not real sure where you are heading with this

But Team Mullins is a Sponser and a bit more.

He has had pictures stolen that have been posted here

as someone elses and had another Bull posted without

permission or copyrighted that may have the same results.

You will see their logo on any picture on this site (or any)

and if you have any questions about that I suggest you PM Amanda.

Please take no offense as I may have misunderstood you meaning.

I just think it looks tacky. We all know what kind of service that Mullins provides. I don't think they need to use a beauty of a harvest in that manner.

AC guy,

The photos I posted were not intended as an advertisement. As stated in my first post in this thread I do not have field photos cause my camera was left in the truck. The hunter has several hundred on his camera and thats what really mattered to us on the hill. I am sorry you felt they were tacky. With any Outfitter helping a hunter harvest a critter of a lifetime there is always somebody that will try to put some kind of negative spin on it. Thats the norm now days, human nature i guess. No worries.

Again Huge Congratulations to the hunter on an amazing bull!!!!!!!!

CMC,

Yes

Looks tacky?? I don't see where your gettin that. When a outfitter can put 6 400+ bulls on the ground in just a short few years that has other individuals worried about their success as an outfitter and feel that they need to steal photos and try to take credit for stuff that is not theirs. So these individuals get on these sites do nothing but bash to try and make themselves look better. Anybody that puts the time, dedication and heart into their hunts can have the same success as the Mullins Team. I have known these boys for 15+ years and I can tell you that they are the most respectful and honest hunters and outfitters that I have ever known.

Thank you to all for your congrats on this AWESOME bull. I am Tom Mullins and the guide on this hunt along with Manny and Brian (butters). We all played a huge part in this hunt. I know you all are waiting for Jim to get back for the story but I will try and do my best to lay it out in Mullins fashion, long and drawn out. :P

We were all excited to be apart of Will's early rifle hunt. Hoping to run from bugle to bugle finding the biggest bull that tickled the hunter, call in a lip curling haws screaming at us. The rut hadn't started yet. This was a very tough, November like hunt. Opening day we seen a few bulls from a distance and there were a lot of other people hunting there too. It seemed as if half the permits were on these three bulls. We went up in there trying to get a better look at the bulls but they were in their beds and we were wanting a bigger bull. That evening we glassed up a bull with some cows and tried to cut him off on the way to the water hole. They started bugling 15 minutes before dark and had a growling 300 class bull at 75 yards. He sounded impressive but was definately on the decline. Next morning we watched a bull in the 370's range pass a herd of cows and move in to his bedding area. Made an attempt that evening and he snuck out below us in the trees. The next few days were quiet and hot. Matt was their for a few days glassing with Brian and seen a good bull but it was too far to tell. Throughout the hunt Brian and Manny put some miles on their trucks, feet and eyes trying to locate bulls and any rut activity. Will and I Sat water one night and it was the most zoo-rific hole I have ever been at. Squirrels, turkeys, crows, blue jays, hawks, and cow elk. Never a dull moment the whole evening. Monday as we were walking back to the truck to go glass different spots we heard some late morning bugles. Called one close but he wouldn't come closer than 100 yards in thick trees, had another bull that was too small and we let him walk away. That evening we never heard or seen a bull. On Tuesday I had Manny come with us to help call and see if we could get them talking. We had one small bull answer Manny and nothing else. Decided to move to another glassing area and try to catch them moving into their beds. Had the window down listening for bugles. A bull bugled withing a hundred yards of the truck. Manny says "good bull! good bull!". I parked the truck off the road and we got out and saw he had great fronts and small tops, he was still a smaller bull than we were looking for. At this point we were looking for a 350's class bull. As we were getting back in the truck another bull bugled and this one had a nice throaty bugle. Manny and I looked at eachother wide eyed, grabbed Will and said he sounds gooood. Right as we crossed over the road we could see him on the hill. Holy Crap he was big. The hunter looked at me as I was ranging him and I said three forty. The bull was side hilling in light cover. We moved closer to get a clear shot. I ranged him at 250, the hunter still hadnt had a good look at him and thought i told him the bull was a 340 class bull. He got down and used Manny's tripod for a rest. Manny cow called and stopped him. He put the bull in his cross hairs and realized how big he was as he was pulling the trigger. Right over his back. Will had fell off the tripod in amazement at this huge bull. The bull moved a little until Manny cow called at him agian. He stopped and another miss. The bull walked over a little more and Manny stopped him again with his head behind a tree. This time the worlds greatest elk caller, Manny The Man, put down his cow call and didnt even think to grab his bugle. He stopped that monster bull yelling "HEY! HEY BULL! STOP!!" From my vantage point the bull was behind the tree. Manny could see a little of him. And Will had perfect view of antlers and all the body. He fired off his third round, said he heard the bullet hit, Manny thought he saw the bull arch and we never saw him after he moved into the trees. We waited for an hour before we hiked up there. It was one of the longest hours of my life. We found a 4" diameter spot of blood about 15 ft from where we shot him. and a few pin drops from withing 5 ft of that. That was it. There were no tracks in those darn cinders and no more blood. The hunter and I stayed over the blood and Manny moved down the trail to find more nothing. I got down on my hands and knees looking for any sign and took the other trail that went up. Moved across a drainage and was slow walking. At the crest of the draw I was on, I looked up and could see his hind end and his over 20" 5th point in the tree at about 40 yards. I about filled up my shorts when I seen how huge he actually was at that distance. Pulled up my binos and he was standing there looking around. I dropped to my knees then belly crawled down the hill a bit and tried to find Manny and Will. Finally they were walking in a place where I could quietly whistle to them. Caught their attention and told them 40yards, the bull is standing up behind me. They snuck over and I showed them where and Will took the finishing shots. It is one of the most amazing bulls I have ever had my hands on. Matt left work and came up, that night Jim came down from 9 after the evening hunt, and Pops came up with Gary and his partner Ted. We unofficially measured this AMAZING bull in the 420 class. I am still on cloud 9 that we were able to put Will in front of him, and then his hands on the horns. I cant thank Brian and Manny enough for being there and being apart of the team and everyone else who helped with the camp and pre-season scouting.

I hope everyone enjoys this story as much as I enjoyed being there.

Thanks again.

Tom Mullins
