PSEps Report post Posted September 28, 2009 I drew the third hunt in unit 16 in NM. Bulls were quite, and all alone. I passed up on several 300" bulls hoping to get one bigger than my last. On the 4th day of the hunt I hiked into the bottom of a huge canyon and glassed this bull about 500 yards away. Immediately I planned a stalk to get withinn bow range. Took me about an hour to get across to the other side where this big boy was, but eventually i got there. I positioned myself about 100 yards from him, in some heavy brush with a few shooting lanes. I threw out a cow call and without any hesitation he bugled right back. The bull covered the 50 yards I needed him to in order to get a shot, and at about 55 yards I drilled him right behind the shoulder. He only went about 30 yards and piled up. What a fun and difficult hunt!!!
