scoutm Report post Posted September 24, 2009 I've used these tripod legs for 3 years now and like them very much but have been finding that we are hiking in more remote places these days so I'd like to get a smaller set of legs that will be easier to pack around. Below is a link to the legs specs. The load capacity of these legs is over 15lbs so if you are thinking about using the "Claw" these may be a great set of legs to use with it. Also if you like to glass standing up these legs are great! This model has been replaced by the 055XB Legs which I've found for around $160.00 new. I paid a little less than that 3 years ago. Not really sure what to ask for them so I'll say any reasonable offers will be considered. They function the same as they did the day I took them out of the box but as you know 3 years of scouting and hunting takes a toll on the cosmetics - they do have scratches - nothing major. I've thought of doing that but wasn't sure it was possible and was afraid to mess it up to the point it wasn't usable. I'll have to take a leg apart and see how it's put together. 4Falls Report post Posted October 4, 2009 it easy to do... i used a larger tubing cutter (for cutting up to 1 1/2" copper) the legs are aluminum on mine and cut real easy and the tubing cutter will put a nice square clean factory type cut. i cant remember how much I cut off, but when cutting the last leg make sure u leave enough for the rubber feet.
