Guest Mike Report post Posted October 23, 2003 Is the 22-250 enough gun to take down a coues deer at long distances?
coueshunter Report post Posted October 23, 2003 Dont take the chance with this gun. It would be a shame if you see an absolute monster at 350 yards and you dont drop him. I was going to use this same caliber and was given the advice from a well respected guide. I use a .257 wby mag...........Allen.........
falls Report post Posted October 25, 2003 I agree with what was said above. Ive seen a few Coues taken with that caliber but I wouldn feel right with it out past 200 yds on a tough old buck.
Jason Report post Posted October 26, 2003 I would not recommended the .22.250 for deer size game. If you have to use it for deer hunting I would go with the 55 grain Trophy Bonded Bear Claw. I believe it is the only bullet that is manufactured for the .22-250 that is not a soft point.
