standman Report post Posted September 19, 2009 Hey everyone, decided today to head to San Carlos Lake today (since no one wanted to let me tag along elk hunting). Got on the water around 6:20 a.m. Took about an hour to figure out what color the fish wanted. Ended up catching 21 bass with the largest being 3 lbs. Fished for crappie for about an hour before coming off the lake. Marked crappie almost everywhere I went but couldn't get them to bite. Ended up with only 1 crappie. Caught the bass on dropshot with a gulp shakey worm in a red/black color. Got off the water at 11:00 am. Had a good time. One other note. The lake is down to 4%. If you are heading to the lake be very carefull on the water. One spot in the middle of the lake out from Willow Springs Cove a hump comes up and is only 8' deep.
