Condor Report post Posted September 18, 2009 I'm pretty sure 86's have a solid front axle, I would include that in your add that is major plus!
Jon In Tucson Report post Posted September 18, 2009 If I remember correctly, '86 was the first year of the IFS. That is a great truck. Toyota didn't even know how good a truck they were making back then. Good luck and God bless. Jon In Tucson

stanley Report post Posted September 18, 2009 I have a boy who will be 15 in a couple of months. If I hadn't just shot my wad on a pair of binos, I'd jump on this truck and make him mow grass for everyone in the neighborhood to work it off! It would be a great 'first car' for a kid who loves to hunt/fish!! I had an 84 Toyota 4x4 truck through college and after..... 210K miles on it when I traded it, and it NEVER let me down!! EVER!!! I will definitely own another toyota truck someday (Once my kids are all gone and I can go back to a small hunting rig again! )!!! My $.02.... S.
bradne Report post Posted September 19, 2009 It is IFS, as Jon in Tucson said, it was the first year Toyota did the IFS instead of the solid front axle. I honestly hate to give this truck up. It was my daily driver/hunting rig for over ten years. My wife refused to ride in it (she has no appreciation for fine vehicles) plus I needed something my two kids and wife could ride in so I bought a new extended cab Tacoma. Of course I bought it two months before the cash for clunkers came around but it is probably for the best. I would rather someone use this truck instead of it being crushed.
