Dicks sporting goods is having a sale right now on the rossi guns I think you can order them in youth size also. I am thinking of getting one for my son.

I purchased an H & R single shot 243 and my kids love it. Super small and light weight, I can't remember the price exactly but it was under 200 for sure. It's dropped two carp in their tracks with 80gr core-lokt Rem bullets so far and I'm hoping a coues and some pigs this season. My 10 and 12 yr olds will be using it for their hunts this season. I purchased the rifle at Sportsmans in Tucson.

thanks for the suggestions on the Rossi and H&R... I have a NEF 243, been through several scopes and rings... it shoots really nice wide dot to dot patterns on a 18" target at 100yrds... I'd like to stick w/savage, rem, etc bolt action, was hopin someones son/daughter/wife grew outta theirs.

thx again

I have to agree on this one. Very impressed for the money. My son carried it all day with no problem, wish mine was that light!
