couesdiehard Report post Posted June 2, 2005 Even if she sits in jail but keeps the gate locked it's going to take a lawsuit to get that gate open. She seems pretty stubborn and I'll bet jail won't impress her except that she will want her boy out of jail even more. This is obviously an extreme case but I think we are going to see a lot more of people holding access to public land for ransom. The whole situation sucks. KGAINES Report post Posted June 2, 2005 This woman needs to go to jail, isn't what she's doing blackmail, I don't know for sure but to hold the public hostage has to be illegal. Maybe she does need to dig a hole with her backhoe because if she pulls a gun on the wrong person they might just defend themselves. One more thing I wouldn't let a child molestor out of jail alive if they had every road blocked.
25-06 Report post Posted June 2, 2005 KGAINES, I agree 100% with you. This woman makes me sick, and I hope she and her son get what they deserve.
bcoover Report post Posted June 2, 2005 It seems to me she is one unhappy person. I don't think you would be able to reason with her at all. I understand it is her land, and her road. What is at the end of that road is public land. How much money would it really cost to build a road around her property. I would guess a lot less then taking the problem to court. KGAINES Report post Posted June 2, 2005 You are exactly right, all they need is a D-9 and some tractors, I would drive 50 miles on dirt before I would give that b_____ a penny.
.270 Report post Posted June 2, 2005 you ain't gonna build a road around her place for a reasonable amount. it's all private land everywhere on the creek and you'd have to go up and over some huge bluffs and stuff to get around it. she only controls a couple acres, but the road goes across it. i'm real dissapointed in the graham county supervisors and the county attorney and the blm. public money has maintained that road for decades. heck, go buy the land from her. my cousin's ex-husband is her cousin (does that make sense?). so i guess that makes us shirttail relatives. no wonder she's goofy. i gotta buncha goofy cousins. anyway, he said she's about as reasonable as a rattlesnake. his whole family avoids her like the plague. the way he explained it, she doesn't actually own the land. it belongs to her family in sort of a trust deal or somethin' and she has decided that the land where the road is, is her part. it's gonna be interesting to see what happens come deer season. she's got some prime country locked up. all them deer hunters will most likely be totin' shootin' irons o' there own too. KGAINES Report post Posted June 2, 2005 I think tractors lose control all the time and it would really suck if it just plowed through her entire property, I mean it might happen several times too, them tractors have problems that are intermittent and it could happen every day for weeks until they found the problem. In all reality I say they just figure a way for an easement or just condemn her property, I would sure investigate the heck out of her just to make sure everything she does is on the up and up, on this one I kinda hope big brother watches her like a hawk. bcoover Report post Posted June 2, 2005 I have one word for those bluffs......TNT. I wonder if it would bother her to hear TNT going off all day long for months just to build a road around her property. I would also put the new road right on the edge of her property line. With the new road they wouldn't have to maintain her road, so she could pay that out of her own pocket. What do you guys think.
KGAINES Report post Posted June 3, 2005 I think tnt and primer cord are very unstable and could go off on her property if it were on one of those out of control tractors.
KGAINES Report post Posted June 3, 2005 I also haven't read anywhere that she says her son didn't do it, she is blaming somebody for him doing it. So in every sense of the word she is threatening the public for an admitted child molestor. I could have never been a police officer just for the fact that I would never have arrested a child molestor, they would have all (tried) to escape.
az4life Report post Posted June 3, 2005 Keith has expressed a lot of my reactionary ideas on this what to to to this person. I will add a few more. She could also be sent a bill for maintenance on the road over the past decades. If she cannot pay, take the land from her. At the very least, She could be put in jail the way the military guy was who held illegal mexicans at gunpoint. After all she held LEGAL US Citizens for no reason. I am not familiar with the area, but maybe we could get together a LARGE group of sportsmen and hold a target shoot 1/4 mile and 2 inches from her home. Shooting day and night! Maybe a little spotlight action around the perimeter of her land too! Set up signs indicating that she might be sympathetic and render aid to illegal aliens and other outlaws. I would assume this to be true, since she is sympatetic to child molestors. I would like to find a way to put a lien on the land and kick her off permanently. She may create a problem for herself is she runs into an upset person who is not tolerant of her attitude.
billrquimby Report post Posted June 3, 2005 Seems to me the Graham County Attorney is begging for someone or some group to sue the lady. It would be interesting if it were the Defenders of Wildlife to do so. Back in the 1980s DOW blocked a lot of roads in that area and didn't allow hunters access until its leadership changed. I don't know where today's roadblock is, but I assume it not only blocks the DOW property but it also denies access to the BLM's premiere hiking area. KGAINES Report post Posted June 3, 2005 I can say that if it was one of my kids that her son molested he wouldn't be in jail, and that kayak and gate would be the least of her worries. Does anybody know if there is property adjacent to her that is owned by someone else, I wonder if they sympathize with her and her son or would they allow a road. I have never been there either is her property along a creek, what if a dam was built on accident and flooded her out, maybe they would give her back that kayak to get out. child molestors are maybe lower than terrorist because they have to be the lowest scum on earth, to kill or molest innocents is inexscusible and life in prison is way to good for them, look at what has went on in florida, they should just be dead, how many kids would be alive today if it was an automatic death sentence and done quickly. .270 Report post Posted June 3, 2005 the entire creek bottom for miles is private property. as soon as you hit the bottom from the cedar springs road, the creek bottom is private. every inch of it. for the most part, most of the ranchers have been pretty good at allowing access to the public land. they don't bother anyone and are a pretty good buncha folks. this gal is related to the Salazars. they've been living on the creek for nearly 200 years. they are a great buncha folks. the salt of the earth. i know em personally. where she has the road blocked is just below the old Salazar church. all this talk about dynamite and stuff is fun to talk about, but not realistic nor is it helpful. for quite a few years the DOW owned a buncha land and tried to lock everyone out of the galliuros. did a pretty good job of it. if i remember correctly, the nature conservancy has bought out the dow and now owns what they had. they are pretty good at allowing foot and horse access, but don't allow motors across their property. they own most of the land just above the araviapa box. let this thing run it's course. don't get the other ranchers down there pissed off or they'll lock it up where the cedar springs road hits the aravaipa road. if a guy wants into turkey creek bad enough he can always come over the mountain from lower aravaipa. dealing with an unreasonable person unreasonably just magnifies the problem. if any group sues her, she ain't got the funds to fight it. won't be much of a fight. but i'd sure hate to see where she shot somebody or somebody shot her over a stupid deal like this. patience opens gates.
