Anyone read Deer (18) you can purchase an elk and buff tag if drawn AZGFD wants to remove them from the area.

 

Sure take a big truck to load all 3,..... in could you imagine.

I saw that Dan. I know that the Elk and Buff are a problem up on the Kaibab but to try and hunt all three at the same time is not going to be real efficient. I would probably buy the tag for buff if it wasnt too much...........hopefully I have this problem........LOL.........Allen.....

If you shot a buff. on this hunt, would it count as your one in a lifetime? I'm guessing yes. I know a couple hunters that are gunning for this hunt just to buy the extra tags.

Has anyone ever seen an elk on the Kaibab? I have spent a decent amount of time up there and never saw or heard a single elk. Saw saw old droppings once, that's it.

there are some huge bulls on the kaibab. last year there were several real thugs taken on the limited opportunity hunts in those units. not too many, but they are there. if i was interested in this hunt i'd plan on spending a lotta time in a plane before the season, especially for bison. it'd be an expensive deal, but man what an opportunity. deer, elk and bison all at the same time. i also think that a guy could really screw himself up tho and end up wasting a helluva deer tag chasing around elk and bison. Lark.

Last paragraph on page 42 of the regs in reference to Population Management Hunts says, "the annual bag limit for elk(1 per calendar year) and buffalo (1 per lifetime) still applies." So if you shoot a buffalo on this hunt you are basically done you are basically done hunting buff in AZ.
