RV OWNERS

Recommended Posts

This just happened to me this week while traveling'

On approximately 117,157 models of Samsung microwaves manufactured between May 2000 and September 2003, there is a defective membrane panel. An electrical short can occur, causing the oven to activate without pressing any key pads. This could result in excessive heat, smoke or possibly a fire.

Samsung will notify its customers and repair the panel. In the meantime, consumers should unplug their microwave, if possible. If the consumer is unable to unplug the microwave, they should leave the microwave oven door ajar until the membrane panel is replaced. Consumers should never use the microwave oven for storage or leave any towels, paper, cloth or other products in the microwave after use. Owners may contact Samsung at 800-932-3837 or the National Highway Traffic Safety AdministrationÕs Auto Safety Hotline at 888-327-4236. To search NHTSAÕs database of recalls, visit www.nhtsa.dot.gov.

hope this helps someone .........Chris

If you can not unplug it

look at your power distribution panel.

Most of the time the Micro has it's own circuit breaker.

Turn it off.

I shut the breaker off to my fridge because of the recall. I can not get Game Hauler to fix it for me.

Some RV tech. Will not drive down to Mesa And fix it for me unless I buy him lunch or something like that.

One of the next few trips up north i will have to stop in and Pay him to do it. I am sure I missed the free recall fix.

I put this up because i have a habit of plugging in my trailer by the side of my home for a few days without even checking the inside. I was not aware of the recall til i came home from work to grab something from the trailer and saw the microwave on. I have a habit of storeing my plastic plates inside and were the black and smoldering.I'm lucking it didn't catch fire . I now turn the breaker off ........... chris
