I think your best shot at getting a lion with out dogs is to be hunting coues deer. Every year I see them and it is while hunting coues deer. coues deer to a lion must be like a realy good chimichanga from Mattas. Once you have had one you just keep going back for another.

Standman great lion man. That is a cool gun I like that short of a rifle. What is the weight on that thing

so whatter ya sayin' there Az. guide? you been seein' lions lickin' their butt tryin' to get the taste outta there mouth? last time i ate at matta's i had to drink a kitty litter milkshake to sop up all the oil i swallerd. at least it tasted like valvoline. none o' that off brand stuff for them. but now that ya mention it, the biggest lion i ever shot was whilst huntin' the cula blanca in dec. killed a no foolin' 9 footer that went well over 180 lbs. he coulda been 200. he'da topped 220 easy in his younger days. he looked that ol' grampa lion that i useta see on the "snagglepuss" cartoon when i was a kid. later, Lark.

Hey Standman, great cat, great shot and great rifle too. Is that the original stock on the rifle or did you changed?? I got one exactly like yours but mine has the wood stock, that's what I was using in Mexico this past January and I had problems with the safety;rifle was going off (rifle was firing) when I was taking the safety off.

And I also saw a lion but it was waaay out of range but it was exciting looking at him through my docters.......any way congrats on that cat and on a niiice shot.

Hey guys, Is that Mattas, on Main st in Mesa? I thought they were long gone. I ain't been there in 15 years I'd guess. Back then they used Havoline which kept the tortillas from sticking. We always thought they used cat, (but the domestic kind) and now we hear it may have been a bit bigger.

Ernesto, I had the stock replaced. The original stock cracked so I replaced it with a synthetic. About the gun firing when taking the safety off. I heard that when the gun was in production they had a recall on it for that very reason. They said that the problem really occured after someone had trigger work done on the gun.

I have never had any problems with mine, thank goodness, but I do know others who have. They put a new timney trigger in the gun and that seemed to solve the problem. ARIZONA GUIDE, the weight on the gun right now is just over 6 lbs. It sure is an easy gun to carry around.

The only thing I eat there is the chimi. Yes it is a bit greasy But lots of cat meat with no fillers :D . The best you can get is the geiko grill in gilbert. They have real baja mexican food. We do not want to get started on the butt licking thread again so lets drop that one. We all learned more about each other than we needed to that day. .
