coueselk Report post Posted May 15, 2005 Here a couple of pictures of a bear, before he decided to take his frustrations out on my camera. The top picture is one of the first pictures. This is when he heard the camera and turned around to have a look. The bottom picture is just before he destroyed the camera. He pulled it off of the ocotillo I had it attached too, breaking the brackets in the back that held it up. It then looked like he played soccer with it all over the rocks. I found it about 20 yards from the cactus.
standman Report post Posted May 16, 2005 The same thing happened to me last year. Bear ripped it off the tree and used it as a chew toy. It still works but have to tape it to a tree, the bracket that holds it is no more. Also got a pic of him before he tore it off. Brian
az4life Report post Posted May 16, 2005 Is that the same spot you had it when you snapped shots of that nice buck a while back? If is is one of the 35mm cameras, maybe he smelled the film and thought it was a snack! Cool pictures though. I assume he tore up the housing but the camera was okay since you got the film out of it? Sounds like a stronger camera housing and go to digital. The spot looks good! Thanks for sharing the pics
BASS Report post Posted May 16, 2005 LOL I wonder what he was thinking? Maybe he was a movie star who hated photographers in a past life. My sisters boyfriend was out fishing one day, and afterwards decided to drop off his trail camera at one of his favorite spots. He forgot to wash his hands, and also found his camera chewed on. It was later burned to a crisp when the unit North of 22 burned last summer.
TREESTANDMAN Report post Posted May 16, 2005 Last year I had a camera on a little spring and the same bear would turn my camera about 60 degrees or so. This happend 3 times. I would have pictures of his ears or snout and then the next pictures would all be of the hillside. Luckily he never harmed the camera.
