I have been trying for 4 years to get on a bear and so far I have deemed myself the worst bear hunter on earth, never seeing a single bear. I think I might just keep this area to myself for a change. man come hang out with me, All I want to do is shoot another deer with my bow and all I find are bears! BML Report post Posted May 26, 2010 The bears are all there before the hunt opens in this particular unit. By the time the hunt opens in October, the acorns are gone and so are the bears. Unfortunate too, because I have been trying to kill a bear for years now and this canyon is the only place I have been able to find them where it's feasible to hunt them without dogs.
