I AM WANTING TO FIND A NICE COUES BUT WOULD TAKE A NICE MULEY IF ONE COMES MY WAY,I HUNT UP ON THE PLAINS OF KANSAS FOR WHITETAILS & MULEYS . WE HAVE THE ROCKY MOUNTAIN MULEY HERE ,I DONT KNOW IF THE MULEYS IN NM ARE OF THE SAME SPECIES OR THE DESERT TYPE,I HAVENT FOUND ANYONE THAT KNOWS MUCH ABOUT HUNTING THEIS AREAS MABEY THEY NOT VERY POPULAR UNITS TO HUNT. ANYWAY I AM LOOKING FORWARD TO HUNT IN DIFFERENT TERRAIN AND WILL ENJOY DOING WHAT I LIKE TO DUE MOST IN LIFE.
crazyaboutcoues Report post Posted August 10, 2009 Hello kshunter Hunting north of Lake Roberts is good for Desert Muleys we don't have the Rock Mountain persuation here in the south. You probably won't see too many Coues deer below 7000' but there are a few lurking around. Good Luck on your hunt. My son and I are headed to Ozbourne KS in late November to hunt BIG Whiteys and some yard birds.
