GameHauler Report post Posted August 8, 2009 I'd call it bad shot placement It happens to the best but could have been a Rookie. If he made it this long I would think he will make it. Practice is the key to putting that dart where it needs to be not where that one ended up. You owe it to the Critter to take him without suffering
TwoGuns Report post Posted August 8, 2009 I think its an arrow shaft. The bull we killed 2 years ago had an arrow shaft sticking out of its neck with the broadhead still inside. The skin had healed aroud the arrow and we could not pull it out till we skinned it. They are tough animals for sure.

tjhunt2 Report post Posted August 8, 2009 I think its an arrow shaft. The bull we killed 2 years ago had an arrow shaft sticking out of its neck with the broadhead still inside. The skin had healed aroud the arrow and we could not pull it out till we skinned it. They are tough animals for sure. While scouting last Sunday and Monday I ran across a three legged bull. He looked to be in good condition with his right back leg missing above the knee. He was having a little trouble getting thru the brush. I didn't think to get his picture while I was trying to figure out why he was having a little trouble walking. I am going to try and keep an eye on this bull if I can and hope to get some video. Yes, they are tough animals. TJ

More D Report post Posted August 11, 2009 The bull I took a couple of years ago had 3 bullets in him. 3. 1 in each front shoulder and the third in the back 'knee'. The front shoulders hits didn't even get to the bone and had a thin looking jacket, I suspect the were from the same shooter/bullet. The back knee bullet disentergratted(sp, ouch) and broke the joint. It did heal over but the knee joint fused and was the size of a softball. When I saw him walking he never missed a beat. When i hit him just behind the shoulder he just stopped walking and did not even budge. I like to guess that he was thinking "Damit, not again!" They are tough SOB's
azcoues Report post Posted August 11, 2009 Do you have a different angle of that bull its hard to say if it is an arrow or if it is some mud or where he rubbed the area on a tree and may have ruffled the fur,but you said he looked kind of scrawny so I dont know.
