Dad's 1980 Nutrioso Buck

Dad got this buck on Halloween while on horseback atop gobbler peak in Nutrioso. The rifle is a mauser in 762 or 765? Havent looked at it in awhile....He packed the buck home a few miles to our front door. And hung it on the front porch as you can see. I've stared at this pic allot. The house is still there, one of the first on the mesa to the north of Escudilla Mountain. He built it when he was 23 i think,whenever he got out of the marines anyway, grew his hair and used the Training on this buck.My Father, My Hero My friend

My, my, how time flies. It's cool looking at your dad and his buck in 1980 and then seeing him again with his monster buck in 2009.

That is one big bodied deer right there. Thanks for sharing the picture. Sounds like your Dad was a go getter building that house and serving his country at such a young age. You come from good stock for sure.

I just saw two nice Bucks cross the road about 7 am on my way from the nutrioso turn off and the state line towards luna. They both had nice size bodies and they were both big 4 points.
