W.O.T Report post Posted August 4, 2009 actually, I need one for my 12yr old son... wards, would you recommend that stand for my son? hes never been up a tree, except when Im chasin him with my belt!!!!
GonePointing Report post Posted August 4, 2009 You might want to consider a double ladder stand so you can sit with him to allow him to get used to being 16' in the air. It is kind of scary at first.
AZP&Y Report post Posted August 4, 2009 In addition to the stand I wouldn't "skimp" on the safety harness - that is one critical piece of equipment for any treestand hunter.... Generally the harness that comes with most treestands is avg. at best. Good luck! AzP&Y

Switchback Report post Posted August 4, 2009 W.O.T I would consider a ground blind...I know when I was 12, I got pretty dang excited and still do... sometimes you forget where your at thats just my 2 cents better safe than sorry in my book especially with the kids
willhunt4coues Report post Posted August 5, 2009 You can always have someone make you a ladder or you can by one with the money you saved. The harness is a climber harness. But like switchback said a ground blind might be better. I bought one just because I already have two blinds and wanted something for a back up. It's up to you though. Just giving you all the deals we all look for.
