mattobertin Report post Posted August 5, 2009 I have hunted down south for the last three years and the area I hunt seems to be quite a few drug runners. I have seen them EVERY time I have been down there. Last year when we were hiking into an area to glass from there was a BP chopper buzzing the canyon and surrounding hills we were to be glassing. They went back and forth for a few minutes searching and then just took off. We almost gave up and went back to the truck but set-up to glass anyway. About 15 minutes later here come a herd of taco-bending drug smugglers walking about 100 yards infront of us! They did'nt see us but they had guns and a crap-load of dope! Anyway I was glad I stayed and glassed because I glassed up a monster two point and my first lion. Did'nt kill either but finding them is sometimes the challenging part! maloney2121 Report post Posted August 5, 2009 How many of us on this site have the early october hunt in 36c and need a hunting partner? I have been drawn by myself and have not yet found a for sure partner but I do have people who may be available. If anybody has a tag by themselves and need someone to hunt with I am available. I know the unit very well and I got quite a few game plans to get away from pressure. Just throwing that out there cause I know it is always better to hunt with someone down south. But, people are fooling themselves or have thier head in the sand if they think illegals are not causing trouble for them. How about THIER tax dollars going towards the 20 MILLION illegals.....how many trillions are the American tax payer spending? Every citizen is effected by the drugs, violence, theft, astronomical health-care costs, prison terms for illegals, I could go on and one......... Yeah Im sure they take up a lot of our tax money and yeah they cause problems here and there but they are also there when I got work that needs to be done and they don't complain unlike some americans I know. they are hard workers and I wish it was easier for them to do it legally but its not so they are doing what they have to do. Im definitely not saying Im for them coming here illegally but if they can do it the right way then more power to them. They just want a better life. ROCKSLAYER Report post Posted August 6, 2009 i wonder if the border patrol would be interested in borrowing my german shorthair.last 2 trips down south he finds 10 -15 birds a day pretty easily,but he averages around 50 + illegals.i lost him one afternoon in a wash & found him with a group of 8 that were sharing their candy bars with him.
