cohofishing Report post Posted July 28, 2009 Hi, Have you tried looking at Jim White's adapters? Amanda sells them in her store. If she doesn't have what you need, I think she is can order what you need. I used his adapter for my ultravids. I do use his tripod head, but you don't have to. The base just screws into a standard 1/4 inch tripod screw. It works great if you carry you bino's on your chest. One piece stays with the bino's and the other with the tripod. archery nut Report post Posted July 30, 2009 I haven't used the Jim White adapter but I am sure it works great. However, I do have experience with the one from the Outdoorsman and it works great.
W.O.T Report post Posted July 30, 2009 thx larry... I am headed down there this weekend... might as well purchase stuff brand new, get what I want and need... the guy down there already told me he'd take care of me... thanks for the PM bro... regarding the Jim White adapter... how does it mount to the Geovids? the typical mounting location is not available on the Geovids, that spot is taken by the laser for the range finder... http://accurateshooter.net/Blog/geovids8x42.jpg
CouesWhitetail Report post Posted July 30, 2009 Although Jim White makes adapters for other leicas, I don't think he has one for the Geovids. So I suggest the Outdoorsmans adapter. Outdoorsmans is one of our sponsors, so please support them whenever you can. http://shop.outdoorsmans.com/product.sc?ca...amp;productId=

youngbuck Report post Posted July 30, 2009 It does work good If i used my 10's on a tripod more I'd get one. I use the old websters on mine. Lots better than the Leica brand one. That thing is a joke. I hope they have changed it since. Nope, I just looked. Anybody see the Leica geovix LUX? Its binos that you can use to talk to other binos w/ a headset. Man I thought a rino was hi-tech.
W.O.T Report post Posted September 8, 2009 thx Larry and RonG for the nod on the Outdoorsmans adapter... on a side note... that place(Outdoorsmans) is a trap, I wore out the magnetic strip on my visa in there!!! beware...
catclaw Report post Posted September 8, 2009 I have refused to buy big Leica glass and Zeiss as it should come with an adapter for that kind of money! Who makes a 15x binocular and expects someone to use it withOUT a tripod. Kudos to Swarovski in that dept. I think the lesser powered Geovid is more practical. I haven't seen the Outdoorsman adapter so I can't comment there, but if anyone has one, it will be them.
