My best friend and I have been using them for almost 4 years and they are great for the money. I used to use them all the time untill I bought the Swarovski 15's now Jim uses my old Brunton's and I use the Swarovski's. For the money you cant get a better deal!

I looked at the Nikons and the Bruntons side by side. I actually thought the Bruntons were better glass. They seemed brighter and more clear. I was really surprised! Up untill that point, I had decided to go with the Nikons.

Has anyone compared these to the brunton echo 15x63's? Are the echos any better glass? For about the same price with larger objective lens, the echos might be a better deal. Ive been eyeballing these two sets of glass for awhile now and im glad you brought the subject up.

Anybody have any advice on how close these binos can get... for people with eyes closer together or for nice "starter glass" for kids. The smaller objective makes me think they would be better. Any thoughts on this from anybody who owns em.

thanks

I cannot use the big roof obj binos, I have to use porros in 15s or my Bruntons. I've used most porros including Steiners and Docters, but not the Zeiss 15X60. The Bruntons are much lighter and work very well and that suprised even myself. I don't take the porros anytime I'm backpacking anymore. It's kinda funny when I'm sitting on a hill and there are 3 Swaros and then my bruntons and I still find animals faster than the others. I just have more experience. Glassing ability isn't a problem with these but durability may be, I've only used them for over a year and about 30 days in the field. I looked at the Vortex 15X50 which I didn't like the overall useability as much and the Zeiss 15X45 which I looked at hard for a weekend and 'to me' was a do nothing well bino and the worst of the three for glassing. The Leica's of course would be nice but too much money right now. Maybe the Kaibab's but a 1000.00 is still pushing it right now.

My Minox 10X52s are almost closed together when they are about right for me and the Brunton 15X51s are about the same, maybe 2 paper widths left, if that helps and you can find them to test but not the Bruntons.

Het Roughcut. My old man has a pair of theses bruntons 15x51. They are pretty good glass for the price. I have no problem looking through the minox 15x58, and eveyone complains about those. My eyes are pretty close together (sometimes crossed). When looking through his i dont even have to adjust them. We can look through em all day with little to no strain. He can spot bedded deer with the best of em. The durability as noted is unknown cause hes only had em for a year. But so far i would reccomend them for the price.

How would you compare the Brunton 15x51's to the Minox 15x58's? I'm considering purchasing both of these binocs, but haven't pulled the trigger. I like the price and weight of the Brunton's, but I'm thinking the Minox are better overall glass especially in low light conditions. I'll be using the 15's on a tripod mainly for deer and javelina. For the past few years, I've been renting Swarovski's from Ross Outdoors but over time it will pay to invest in my own glass.

Thanks,

KP

opticaly (is that a word?) the minox are clearer, brighter and sharper. but if you have an eye for picking out animals, the bruntons work good. the minox are heavy, so make sure you have a good tripod. i have looked through the swarvoskis, and in my opinion the minox are just as clear, but are a little darker. everyone has different eyes though.
