desertmountain Report post Posted July 22, 2009 looking to get some new binos and have narrowed it to vortex razor 12x50 or nikon monarch 12x56. Does anyone have experience with either?
Red Rabbit Report post Posted July 22, 2009 If their 10x binos are any comparison, I'd choose the Vortex Razor over the Monarchs. Another optic that I have heard good things about in that power range is the Minox 13x56. May I ask why you are considering 12x vs 10x or 15x? RR

youngbuck Report post Posted July 22, 2009 I havent looked through the monarchs in 12x but i have a pair of 10s. My buddy has the razor 12x50 and likes them alot. They look like good glass to me. I have always like glassin with a few people who use different magnification. If im with 15x guys we usually glass the same stuff at the same time. If you have a guy usin 12's or 10s in addition to 15's your glassin different stuff. Im a fan of the razor 12's
palivs2hnt Report post Posted July 23, 2009 I have a pair of the Nikon 12x56 and IMHO you cannot buy a better glass for that price. I have not tried the vortex. Justin

joeybari Report post Posted July 23, 2009 i have not tried the Vortex but the only beef i have with my Minox 15-58 is that it is on the heavy side
kphunter Report post Posted July 23, 2009 i have not tried the Vortex but the only beef i have with my Minox 15-58 is that it is on the heavy side But don't you use the 15x58's exclusively on your tripod so weight isn't much of a factor?
