Just curious as to how many of you know someone who has volunteered for the Minute Men program. I admire these guys greatly. I realize that I am delving into politics here, but how can we survive as a nation with 1500 (average) illegals coming into our land per day? Give a drivers license to an illegal? Amnesty? This is one thing Pres. Bush has dropped the ball on.

Immigrants are one of the things that made this county great, but they didn't get here illegally. This nation is the best nation on Earth, but our borders are so porous that al-queda, (I refuse to capitilize this organization) or anyone else who seeks to cause us harm, could and can sneak thru our borders with no problem. All I want to do is raise my family in this great land without the fear of some rogue fascist (terrorist) doing harm to them and others.

May God bless these Minute Men who volunteer their time and effort to support you, your family, and mine. -Shiras

I don't know anyone who has joined them, I think alot of them are retired, but from every report you read it sounds like they are doing a great job. As for Pres. Bush dropping the ball, first off I don't think anyone has ever picked the ball up for it to be dropped. There are so many civil liberties types of groups out there that file lawsuits and cause roadblocks in the legal processes that need to be stopped also. If there was a vote on this nation wide I think that fencing and maintaining the border with enough people would win in a landslide, but we know that will never happen.

I think the minutemen project showed how the whole illegal immigration pattern can be upset and slowed with enough regular vounteers.

That said, I wonder how many people would volunteer as "assistants" to the Border Patrol agents if a "volunteer posse" system was implemented. Afterall the Sheriff's office has posse members who volunteer, and many police forces have reserve (volunteer) officers so just think what could be done with regular volunterism with the border patrol?

I would certainly volunteer 2 weekends a year glassing the border areas. Would not do it unless I was armed, but I would do it.

Anyone else?

SIGN ME UP! I think that would be a very good idea. They could make this be like a tax credit for evry day you spend out on the front line of the border you get say a $250 tax deductionfor the year of service.

You bet I would do it, I am so tired of seeing the trash and filth left behind when the illegals cross through the lands that we hunt and camp in.
