Problems with Garmin Rhinos??? 520/ 530

Anyone having problems with Garmin Rhino gps/radios? I have the 530 and the 520 and both are acting up..... I keep getting a black screen on the map and one turns off every time the other radio trys to call it. Any ideas would be hepful... I am really trying to like these things, but so far they are a pain in the @$$.. They mess up about as much as they work. I still have 4 vhf kenwoods that work everytime. I am about ready to get rid of these Rhinos and go back to the radios, and a gps.

 

In the morning I am going to contact Garmin and see what they say...

 

Any info would be helpful.

They just replaced my FOURTH Rino! I'm done with 'em. There has to be something better out there.

 

All had the same problem as yours

 

520's and 530's have lasted 6-8 months.

 

Thank god for Cabelas return policy and Garmins one year warranty ( they replaced the last on at 18 months )

 

I'm going back to a radio and a better GPS.

I take it all back. I just got off the phone with Garmin, and after a couple updates that I downloaded off the internet they are working perfectly. (so far).

They did the same to mine, worked on 2, not on the others. There customer service has been always been great.
