pinalhunter Report post Posted June 21, 2009 Several hundred acres rencently burned in the pioneer pass area of 24a. Including one of my trail cams. So now Im wondering how far the deer that were in that area have moved. Did the fire just cause higher concentrations of game near by or are the deer likely to completely leave the area? Im going to take a chance and put another camera in that area on the edge of the burn if anyone is interested I'll let you know what I find.

By the time August comes new growth will be there and I can promise that deer will once again populate the area. The only bad thing is that everyone will also be in the area. The fire did not do that much damage. All it did was burn the under score which will help with the habitat. It did burn lots of the old pines and some brush but it did not do that much damage. Good luck on your hunt.
Coues Archer Report post Posted June 22, 2009 That really stinks man. In my area there was a fire a few days ago too. The deer are going to move but not far from where originally stationed.
