az.antlerenthusiast Report post Posted June 8, 2009 These are some shed pictures from this last weekend. For me finding a brown coues antler is rather rare let alone a pair. This is the second pair of browns from the same buck that I have managed to find in the coarse of 4 years. Upon finding the pair 4 years ago I was also able to find one of his antlers from the year previous about a half mile away and higher up on the mountain. This is a large and rather steep mountain with a small bench on the side. Get past a certain area on the mountain and your search becomes very intense to say the least. Well it just wouldn't feel like Spring time without seeing a couple of these. For awhile I was finding more snakes than sheds. Couple miles away and a 3 point brown. Almost as great as a brown is a white horn that has escaped being found for a few years.
Brian Payne Report post Posted June 8, 2009 Those are some cool sheds! That buck has been around awhile. I am guessing the other brown deer antler is a Muley shed?

AZantlerhead Report post Posted June 9, 2009 You are officially watching for snakes way too much... But I see you made it out for a stroll away from camp and you're wife and friends long enough to run up that mountain and back, and score those Coues Brownies. looks like he's old and regressing now. I can't tell how big they are though. Mind scoreing them or setting something by umm?? He's a shooter whatever the case. Cool Buck. So it sounds like you found the "antler belt" on that mountain so on youre third trip back there ( with me of course) we get packloads right? . Thanks for doing my homework. JK. When are we goin . I'm guessin you were at the bottom end of notellum canyon on the north side, theres a graduall very large bench about three quarter up on the west faceing slope, well it actually wraps around the ridge but you get the picture.. to the west from where you found that dagger brow tine muley? Ive walked accross that area once in a breakneck attempt to get back to the truck another 5 miles away on the other side as the sun was settin, picked up 3 on that flat, not even lookin, spent the day east of there in honeyhole gorge below motherload peak. . is good area, Correct me if i'm wrong. That's a good little trek or climb from where you were camped, Your ol' lady and friends are so understanding of youre addiction to horns Family outing my patutie!! lol Good job man.
