truehunter Report post Posted June 4, 2009 Hey just wondering what kind of trail camera everyone advises to use. Is it worth it to spend extra $$$ for a good trail cam or are you just risking the chance of having someone steal it?? I have heard that in many units people will steal trailcams or the memory card so that person wont be able to know what is in the area?? Any comments jsut wondering what everyone thinks about this Thanks
thegunsmith2506 Report post Posted June 4, 2009 I have had a few cams stolen over the past couple of years. I tend to stick to $100 or less for a camera. I really like the Wildviews for the money. I just picked up a cheap one at Cableas for $40. Moultrie makes a good camera for under a hundred buck too. One of the things I look for is the "3 shot burst" option. I really like the pictures those Covert II's take, but that is a lot of money to hang on a tree. Whatever you end up with I am sure you will enjoy the pictures. youngbuck Report post Posted June 4, 2009 I started with one wildview a few years ago. Now i have 3 cheap wild views. One 4mp wildview and a predasesor to the covert I. If i had the extra money layin around id think about the covert II. Ive been one of the lucky ones and never had a camera stolen. I know alot of buddies that have though. If you are starting out. I suggest the wildviews.

truehunter Report post Posted June 5, 2009 thanks for the input guys Ill have to do something cheap and for starting out. Makes me even wonder if it is worth it sometimes wen people steal your cameras. Oh well I guess that is part of the competitiveness of hunting in AZ
SouthernCouesHunter Report post Posted June 5, 2009 I have several Moultrie cameras that I would be willing to sell pretty cheap. If you are interested PM me.
CouesWhitetail Report post Posted June 5, 2009 I'll second the suggestion of Covert 1 or 2's.....and the nice thing is you can buy them here and help support this site at the same time! AND they are going on sale today! I will post more about that later. The coverts are smaller than most any other trail cam and therefore can be hidden more effectively. http://www.coueswhitetail.com/bookstore/trail_cameras.htm
