Latest Covert II pics.

Recommended Posts

If any of you are still undecided on whether or not to get one of these new Covert cameras from Amanda then maybe these pictures will help you decide. I set the camera up on a tank and man did I hit the jackpot!! This tank is getting hammered by Coues deer. I got almost 200 pictures in less than a week and would have gotten more if a bear hadn't knocked my camera around.

I give my full endorsement to these cameras.

A cute little Mearns.

From looking at the stocky body and short face, I think this is an older buck.

Wow, way to go brother, those pic are great. You got me all pumped up to put my camera out for my archery bull elk hunt in sept. I just hope my pics turn out that well.

Great pics Scott!! Glad you are enjoying those cams!! It's always nice to hear they are working well for customers.

Not often you get a mearns to stand still for a photo!

I recently had both of my cams messed with by bears, but they didn't hurt the cams. Even though the bears moved the cams by 10 feet or more and one came off the tripod it was on.

The mearns was cool.

Used to be the bears really like the film cameras. Guess the cameras need need a scent-free wash and rubber glove treatment for those olfactory bruins.

I have always done the homebrew route.....and I've never used a DLC Covert cam setup, BUT based on what their website says and the cost these little bad boys may rival the homebrews! Sweet pics and thanks for sharing!

I wipe mine down with scent-free stuff just to help keep the bears away. Seems to help, but still they sometimes just see something different and have to take a look. Bears are always curious about stuff.

Great pictures, is that a Covert I or II? I think that's the first Mearns I've seen on a trail cam. Nice.

It's a Covert II, but the Covert 1 takes the same quality pics.

Congrats on all the action Scott! Great pics, too!

I'd love to have one of those lil' cams for the longer pack trips. I have a spot that I gotta get a cam on soon and I am dreading taking a full size cam in there. How long are the batteries good for and what size?

Amanda, do you sell the solar panels that plug in to these cameras as well?

Gino, the batteries are AA, and each cam using 8 of them. They can last like 4,000 or more photos. I did have one of my cams recently not last that long, but I don't know what was up with that. I think it was set to video and video seems to use up the batteries faster, especially if you got more night video.

You can buy a solar panel for these little cams. I think Moultrie makes them, I don't sell them. It has to be a 6 volt unit. I haven't yet done this with these cams.

I've only replaced the batteries in one camera and that was like Amanda said, I had it set on video and the deer were coming in at night. The other camera still shows 3/4 life in them. Bottom line is the batteries last a long time.
