CouesWhitetail Report post Posted June 1, 2009 Hey All, Here is my latest installment of the Owls vs. Mice videos that I have made. The video was taken during field work in Aravaipa and the Pinal mtns. Then I use a software program to slow it down so you can see more detail off the flights, and of course I added some music. The vocals in the second music piece are saying "Darkness is Coming", seemed appropriate especially for the mice meeting their destiny. http://www.coueswhitetail.com/video_clips/...s_is_coming.wmv Amanda

Did you release the mice or were you just in the right place at the right time? -Tracy They are great predators! It's truly amazing to see them turn from a sleepy owl into a absolutely focused predator when I put a mouse out. Mice are provided by me. It's part of a formal survey protocol (for which federal and state permits are required) that makes it far more efficient to locate the nest and young. CouesWhitetail Report post Posted June 2, 2009 Glad you guys enjoyed it. It's fun to make. It all happens so fast in the field that it's neat to be able to see it slowed down so you can see more of what's happening. Amanda
