azcouesandelk Report post Posted May 28, 2009 Well my dad and I just got back late last night from a 10 day fly fishing trip to the high mountains of California! The weather was perfect with highs in the upper 60's and lows in the low 40's! We got to see some breathtaking scenery from the creeks, road and even backpacking into some high mountain lakes! Red Rabbit Report post Posted May 28, 2009 The colors and spots on those brownies are great. Are you going back for the fall run? No waders and the boots are dry in some pics. Did you fish from the bank alot? Doug~RR
azcouesandelk Report post Posted May 28, 2009 Thanks for the commetns guys! Doug there were a couple of creeks where you didnt need to wade which made it really nice, and we did fish mainly from the bank on a couple of the creeks. You can see that we fished those creeks mostly also since those were the top producers for big trout. I am not going to make it back for the fall spawn because of school, but my dad is going to try and get back there for the second and third week of September. azcouesandelk Report post Posted May 28, 2009 beautifull brown trout did you catch and release or kept a few. Most of the places we fished were catch and release only, but we did hit a more popular stream one night to catch a couple for a good breakfast of eggs, hashbrowns and trout. Throughout the trip we both caught well over 100 trout and we kept 2 rainbows that were around 12 inches.

azcouesandelk Report post Posted May 29, 2009 Thanks for the comments everybody! Wow! That looks awesome! What a trip that must have been! Did you guys move camp alot, or just park the trailer and stay in one location for the most part? We setup camp and would just go out each day. All the streams and rivers were within 30 miles of camp so it made it easy.
