elkaholic Report post Posted May 21, 2009 Hey, Snapshot 100 more tags for 27 that getting ridiculous game and fish is gonna thin out the deer population up here!!! quantity over quality i guess. What makes you think something like that ? Try unit 29 - A game and fish did a survey and stated 4 bucks to every doe. so they uped the tags this yr. The local ranchers wanted to know how g&f got this information - On the spring round-up they had 10 guys on horeseback for 5 days all over the back country. they seen a total of 2 does -- period ! DubTee Report post Posted May 21, 2009 My wait has begun, jumping from some late coues hunts that I could probably draw for sure in a year or two to north of the ditch. I'll wait it out for up north, I want to do a 13's hunt at least once. Maybe do a leftover for coues if possible, there's always an archery tag to help get my fix, plus my annual trip to the midwest for some big whities always helps as well. Good luck to all! Snapshot Report post Posted May 21, 2009 Hey, Snapshot 100 more tags for 27 that getting ridiculous game and fish is gonna thin out the deer population up here!!! quantity over quality i guess. Yeah, what kills me is that last year they dropped the premium December hunt down to 15 tags and moved the November hunt to October to lower the kill ratio and that give's G$F the opportunity to offer more tags this year. Lets create more opportunity, overcrowding, and over harvesting. Hoorahhhh!

fatfootdoc Report post Posted May 21, 2009 The last time I was in 29 we saw a ton of does, one buck. I am putting for my old standby though, if I dont draw a dec tag I am going to start putting in for 13 so that 20 years from now when I draw I will still be able to hunt it!! Birddog Report post Posted May 21, 2009 Last year I jumped units. I noticed a ton of people camped out in the same spot . I packed in several miles to be alone and it was great. I spotted a few bucks but no takers. I will be putting in for the same unit as I have some unfinished business.
ac guy Report post Posted May 22, 2009 I don't put in for WT anymore. There's plenty of tags left over, since nobody wants them. I put in for mulies, more of a challenge.
