What camo pattern?

Recommended Posts

Natural gear from Wally World works well. I also like the Realtree greay hardwoods, but I just looked on their site and it is not listed anymore.

I have never really paid to much attention to what I wear. I have quit a bit of natural gear from walmart I guess. I have a funny story that is probably to long to tell here but Chef wears ASAT and it works great. We found that out up on the Kaibab one year when we were helping a couple guys find a deer they had shot. He was walking in front of one of them when they started to panic. He stopped and asked if the guy was alright and he said I can hear you but I can't see you. Chef was 10' in front of the guy. We laughed for hours after that. And we still do.

Honestly I choose what camo I wear by what materials it is made of. ;) Iwear Green dbl knee Carhart pants most of the time.

If I wear camo it is usually Outfitter Camo or Kings because they have good (not cotton) materials that holdup well in the various terrain and dries fast. Microtex (from Cabela's) is the very best material I have ever owned. I have used it in the Outfitter Camo pattern to hunt in Alaska, NWT, Texas, Utah and here in AZ... the patern is good everywhere.

I do wish that Predator, Natural Gear, and Max One were available in better materials. ;)

I like the looks of the max 1 open country pattern, and the predator patterns are ones that seem to work pretty well.

I buy whatever's on sale and like Coues 'n' Sheep, material is #1. nylon and wool, no cotton.

If my pants match my shirt or jacket it would be by accident

my camo pattern is always in a state of change, depends on the bloodstains.

I like all kinds. Predator is probably my favorite. But when I am rifle hunting, I am kinda partial to tha Carhats like coues and sheep. But archery hunting I camo out more. I also like that cheap leafy wear that the Walmart up here in Showlow sells. Its only fifty bucks for the whole suit, and you can wear it over anything, such as shorts or blue jeans.

This is an interesting post, especially since I'm looking into new camo right now. I stopped by Corner Archery to look at ASAT (they're the only dealer in Phx. that I know of.) While there I saw Cactuflage. It's made in U.S. which is a plus but is also made of 100% cotton (like ASAT) which could be a negative. Here's the website:

Any thoughts?

ive seen the cactuflage before, doesnt really appeal to me, personally i think you are better off with the predator or ASAT, i think it breaks up your outline better, like the the post earlier about the how deer see i dont think it will be as great, jmo
