Birddog Report post Posted April 20, 2009 We were out saturday. If I remember correctly the water was about 68. Fishing was slow. Couldnt find any pattern to what they were hitting until late. All my fish were caught on skinny dippers and senkos. goodluck stayed at apache gold and won 65 bucks on blackjack

crazyaboutcoues Report post Posted April 20, 2009 68 degree water temp Wow I figured these last cold fronts would have kept it down in the low 60's. Thanks for the update.

Birddog Report post Posted April 21, 2009 I have not been out there very often but from what I have seen it is. My brother was walking the shore line flippin over big rocks and finding large dead catfish. What a waste.

June Report post Posted April 28, 2009 crazyaboutcoues, Wondering how your trip was. I heard lake has dropped close to 15 ft since the beginning of April. Know a good friend who fished Sat. with OK results. Crappie bite was around 2 am till morn. with whiskers being caught also. We were on rosy that night. Caught some crappie that were no where the size of those at Carlos. lucky for me those fish don't have Merc. ha ha. Nice night, once, the wind died down. Slept on the boat looking up at that gorgeous milky way.
crazyaboutcoues Report post Posted April 28, 2009 June We caught about 60 fish in 4 days. Most of them were the left over spawning crappie still in the bushes. The bass bite was dead, we caught about 5 bass on spinnerbaits with the largest being about 3.5 lbs. We also caught about a dozen catfish with minnows while fishing for crappie. I don't know what the water temp was cause I broke my transducer while unloading the boat on the first day . All in all we had a good trip.

June Report post Posted April 28, 2009 Thanks for the updates, Was thinking about heading to the lake after the shoot on Sat. But remembered the NASCAR race is on Sat. night also. I'll give the fishes a little more time to recover from the spawn and then give it another try. Thanks, again.
