bullwidgeon Report post Posted September 27, 2003 The McGee Ranch road sign in area in the Sierritas has alot of deer. There are usually a bunch of other hunters around too. This makes hiking in before opening morning and all the shooting starts key. If you can get up high away from the roads you should see plenty of deer running up to you once the shooting starts and usually there is lots of shooting going on opening day in there. Good luck Bret M.
Guest peckl1 Report post Posted September 27, 2003 I was planning to go into the Cerro Colorados. McGee Ranch and the Sierritas will be too much of a shooting gallery.
bullwidgeon Report post Posted September 27, 2003 I always see lots of carp hunters in those hills and not too many whitetails but good luck, it probably wont be as crowded. Bret M.
Arizona Griz Report post Posted September 27, 2003 I hunted the Colorados last year and I will be there again this November. There is access from all directions and like Bret said you need to get up high before first light and have the hunters drive the deer up to you, unless the deer head into the flats. Arizona Griz. Wyorawhide Report post Posted October 27, 2003 I was in there last February and saw nothing but coues. Course I was about 2 miles from the nearest road. I have seen some huge sheds come from that range. Northwest side if I had a choice.
