bowsniper Report post Posted March 15, 2005 I'm kind of anxious to get my game cameras out to get ready for the August hunt. When do the bucks start sprouting the new antlers? Bowsniper

TAM Report post Posted March 15, 2005 They won't drop last years antlers until about late April, May and sometimes there are still a few holding on into June. You can still put your camera out right now and see if any good bucks made it through the hunting season.
CouesWhitetail Report post Posted March 16, 2005 Bowsniper, You can read more about antler development and all the other life stages of coues deer in the biology section of my website. Here is the link: Coues Deer Life Stages TAM and 25-06 gave some good advice. They still have antlers, but will lose them around April/May and they start regrowing them almost as soon as they shed them. Amanda
