az.antlerenthusiast Report post Posted April 6, 2009 Went antler hunting a couple times this last week. Went to a couple different areas close to town probably no more than 8 miles from civilization at any given point. These are the areas where quads and weekenders do frolic and play. The places that are easy on the body but hard on the horn finding. Still I was quite surprised to find 10 sheds and even some old white horns at that. These are areas that take alot of patients but can still be very rewarding. Found a couple of browns, nothing monumental in size, but not to be belittled. Found conclusive evidence in this cave linking the area to bigfoot and/or Antlerhead, not sure which. Seriously though I did find this shed in close proxcimity to the cave. There is a very worn and often used game trail within 30 feet of the cave. Judging by the pottery, flint shards and blackness of the ceiling ,this cave has a rich history. I'm sure this has been an ambush point for humans and predators both many times in the past.(and no I didn't loot out with anthing). This is within a 1/4 mile of the closest road but is very well hidden in the bushes none the less. small 7 point missed him by a year i guess. Yeah, yeah.... make fun if you want . Finding a pair of spikes isn't always as easy as you may think. Enjoy the wind or not, it can still be your friend if you are trying to walk up on anything. I was standing less than 30 yards from this little guy, out in the open none the less.
