a new photo gallery topic?

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

I have been thinking about adding a new photogallery section for pictures that you get that aren't of deer, but happen during a deer scouting or hunting trip. This may be a picture of some other species, like elk or javelina or snakes or coatis or whatever. Or it may be picture of a nice sunrise or sunset or rainstorm or whatever. Maybe some unusual pics from a trail camera.

I think it would be interesting especially if everyone gives a little info about how they got the photo.

Anyone interested?

Hello Amanda

I would especially like to see pictures taken from a trail camera and have always liked to see pictures of wildlife.

I've been debating buying another one since mine was destroyed by some ____ ___ in Unit 23 last year.

SOUNDS LIKE A GOOD IDEA, I ALSO WOULD BE INTERESTED IN WHAT KIND OF PICTURES PEOPLE ARE GETTING ON THE TRAIL CAMS

Glad there is some interest. It might be a good way for people to see which game cams give pictures good enough for them to use.

Feel free to start sending me pics if you have anything you want posted in this kind of section. I will probably make separate galleries for trail cameras vs photos gotten the "normal" way.

I hope to have 3 or 4 trail cams out in 24W early next month to scout for the late hunt. If I get anything good I will pass it on!

Marlon

Hi Amanda,

I have some great photos of live gould's tukeys from the ranch. I was planning on sending them in for the photo contest with the NWTF and I'd want to make sure they are protected from being downloaded and used by others. Can the photos be protected? Thanks and sounds like a good idea. By the way, I made the post on the dates of the coues show next week. I noticed a typo but couln't figure out how to edit the post once it was up. Sorry about that. TBrown

Speaking of trail cameras. I was in the newly moved archery shop in Payson about a month ago and they had a picture taken by a trail camera of a freakin HOG whitetail buck at a fence crossing. HOLY LORD was it a gorgeous buck!!!!!!! The buck was in velvet and from what I remember he's got a 3pt frame with a cheater coming off his eyeguards. Bases that had to be over 5" and man did he carry the mass! I know that velvet adds to the appearance of mass but holy crap, he was still gonna be a fatty. If any of you get a chance and noone has stolen the picture(I was tempted), you ought to stop in there. I've been dreaming of seeing that deer in 21 this December. YIKES!!!!!!!!!!!

Sounds like a great buck josh!!!

Tom, no I can't guarrantee someone wouldn't download them. I ask people to respect copyrights, but I know some do not. There are supposed to be some ways to make downloading impossible, but I haven't learned how yet. I think it takes a special program. So if you are worried about downloaders, don't share the photos yet.

As far as editing posts, you should be able to click on the edit button if you are looking at the that post. The edit button is on the upper right side of the message. email me if you still have troubles.

Josh,

Every time I walk into the archery shop in Payson I have a whitetail coniption. All I want to do after a visit there is to forever walk the hills in search of sign and antlers and trails and rubs and scrapes so I can identify good bowhunting possibilities. This makes me want to move to Gisela or Tonto Basin where I can wake up in the morning and see the Mazatzals to the West and the Sierra Anchas to the East and the Superstitions to the South and the Pinals, and the Apaches and the Salt River Mtns, and AAAAGHHH!

I'm OK now. Deep sigh.

Those Payson boys are gettin all over the Coues deer - with their bows. This is very encouraging.

And very interesting.

Mike
