SilentButDeadly Report post Posted April 1, 2009 I think this should have been posted in the 'coolest trail cam pics' topic... Is that a Coues? Smart lion for hunting over a feeder, not so smart for getting caught on camera... I'd bet that is his new favorite spot, go get him!

Huntaholic Report post Posted April 1, 2009 why don't they kill some does or some little buck? What if having big antlers actually help the lion hold down the deer a little easier during an attack. A lion could wrap/hook its front leg around one side of the rack and turn the bucks head and position it so the lion can get a good chomp down on the throat. Don't know if this is true or not just a thought. Great pic thanks for sharing.
Birddog Report post Posted April 1, 2009 I think the only one that scored is the lion!

DubTee Report post Posted April 1, 2009 I've seen this photo on AT, claiming it was from south TX, everyone is crying photoshop on this one, I'd have to agree. As far as score on the buck, I'd say about 110ish gross.
Kilimanjaro Report post Posted April 1, 2009 If it is a photo shop job, they photoshopped a So. TX whitetail into that pic!!!
aztrophytakers Report post Posted April 2, 2009 Curious to know why some call Photoshop. Is it just the rarity of catching this on camera or is there some telling details to the photo that don't look legit? Thanks
acharenio Report post Posted April 2, 2009 a friend of mine send me this picture, i don't know where he got it from but he said the picture was taken in unit
Browning'sCustomMeat Report post Posted April 2, 2009 this a shame, why don't they kill some does or some little buck? My guess is to why lions take bigger bucks is that they are solitary. Bigger bucks tend to stay by themselves and have only one set of eyes, therefore making it easier for the lion to go unnoticed. If the were to go after does or younger bucks which tend to stay in groups of two or more, there are more eyeballs, hence making it a little harder to be sneaky and probably would be busted. But that's just what I think. -Jeremy-
HEADACHE Report post Posted April 2, 2009 I ran it through an EXIF viewer and it is certainly NOT photoshopped. Just an FYI
elkhutnaz Report post Posted April 2, 2009 Doesn't look like a unit 21 buck to me, I am thinking Texas like Scotty, that is your typical south Texas feeder set up, just my 2 cents Andy
