June Report post Posted March 29, 2009 I'm OFF, in more ways than one Congrats to everyone who got drawn, If you haven't found out your results, best of luck. Heard last week at SAN CARLOS someone won the tourney with a 5 fish over 29 lbs. ARE YOU KIDDING ME!! Anyways, Will probably have to fish from shore. Since, the minnow was lost. . Can't take Big John on this trip either, there's just to much dirt to move. Let you know how it goes when i get back next Friday. Hope the crappie and cats are hungry. June Report post Posted April 4, 2009 Well I'm Driving and about half way over the Coolidge Dam. I was reminded that it was once classified the most dangerous dam in America. Yikes!!. A suggestion, never inform the driver of this stat until you are completly over the dam. Well after finally reaching my destination and setting camp up. I begin fishing from shore only wishing I had a boat. Isn't it funny that when you have a boat. You need to blast all the way across the lake, as far way from where you are camped, only to cast towards shore. So I'm there casting as far away from shore as I can and nothing. And more nothing. Finally. I just gave up and let my billy bob bobber come completly to shore. Wouldn't you know it, no more than 4 feet from shore is where I would catch the first Crappie. A good size male. Well I'm not going to bore you with more. I caught some but nowhere like in previous weeks. Pretty much can be considered slow for all purpose. Between the wind and the constant drainage of the lake which dropped several feet while i was there. Fishing was tough. Still a good size flotilla around the San Carlos Memorial but i heard it is hit and miss. I only caught 1 female the entire trip and she was still full of her egg's the rest were males. Hope it will pick back up with more stable weather. I plan on giving it another try in 2 weeks. Best of Luck.
