KGAINES Report post Posted March 27, 2009 I believe that would have been a draw results day, and there are a lot of guests that visited that day. I am not sure and Maybe Amanda can say, but I think the number was higher years ago and the website crashed or was hacked and some info was lost, I could be wrong. willhunt4coues Report post Posted March 27, 2009 Amamnda and I have talked about this before over the phone and at that time she didn't know why so many people were on the site. After talking for awhile we came to the conclusion that it was probably because of draw results. A new topic sounds awesome and I like the name GAMEHAULER came up with +1 for AROUND THE CAMP FIRE. GameHauler Report post Posted March 27, 2009 "you have been a member since 2006 the most ever users was in 2007?" Dang I didn't check Time rolls a lot faster at my age Well then it must have been when we had the most fun ever on the forum. Will not go into details because Amanda either missed it or she decided it would be a good time to go backpacking for a few days The ORIGINAL JUNKIE POST I did by the way copy it to my hard drive
CouesWhitetail Report post Posted March 27, 2009 I actually didn't believe that number and wondered if it was an error in the software somehow. If it wasn't an error then it was draw related, but I really don't have a good answer for it. As far as the Around the Campfire, we can do that. I have been resisting an all around general conversation forum like that in order to keep discussions focused on hunting and hunting related stuff. But there are many times people post something that doesn't fit well in the other categories, so it could be useful. Amanda

KGAINES Report post Posted March 27, 2009 http://www.hitsunlimited.com/cgi-bin/100to...top.cgi?ID=1279 It looks like we are #14 right now, I can see that even lower with the draw results hanging out there.
daryl_s Report post Posted March 28, 2009 It seems that we normally hang around the mid twenties and then drop into the teens whenever draw results come out. Not long until the e-scouters come out of their caves
Gr8 White Jr Report post Posted March 28, 2009 Most users ever online was 651 on Jun 26 2007, 02:05 PM It may be draw related but I was thinking that it probably wasn't. The deadline for applications is always around June 8th - June 12 so that means that it had only been aproximately two weeks since the deadline, making it impossible for results to have already been released. Other than results being released what topic that is draw related would attract that many users at one time? -Tracy
KGAINES Report post Posted March 29, 2009 Was that the year the results were delayed due to the USO lawsuit, or when the extra tags were issued for non residents. I think those issues were before 06, maybe it was Lark's birthday.
KGAINES Report post Posted March 29, 2009 Ok I am searching this a bit, and right now I have found few topics on that day. Commissioner Martin was being discussed as a new commissioner, Scotty and his wife were headed to Africa, Standman was having a birthday, and little else that I can see. I gooogled June 26, 2006 coueswhitetail.com and found nothing that would not why there were that many posts that day, but Sacramento and Beyond has a link to coueswhitetail.com on their blog. From the blog though it was dated 2-11-2006 On to Lake Patagonia where we ran into a birder heading out who had seen the Black-capped Gnatcatchers, but the sun was getting low and the bird activity was slowing down. We had seen a pair of Black-capped Gnatcatchers here in 2/03, but I was hoping to get photos. Also, a female Rose-throated Becard was supposed to be in the area, but hadn't been reported for a week. This is a species I've missed in Arizona despite a couple of trips in breeding season. A Streak-backed Oriole was also reported in Patagonia, but it was quickly getting dark. We missed our avian targets, but enjoyed watching the tiny Coues White-tailed Deer (more info--note that this is a deer hunting site, but has interesting biological info on this sub-species: http://www.coueswhitetail.com/coues_biolog...es_biology.htm). There were also cattle in the area, including a small calf with the rich baritone "moo" than would do a full-sized cow proud. It followed us around a bit. by Chris Conard I don't know where this came from Amanda but it might be interesting to you. https://coueswhitetail.com/plesk-stat/webst...age_200506.html https://coueswhitetail.com/plesk-stat/webst...6.html#DAYSTATS
CouesWhitetail Report post Posted March 30, 2009 Interesting stuff you dug up there Keith. Those stats links are my regular stats provided by the hosting company. But I think those you posted links for are just for the main page, doesn't include the forum since I host them on different sites. Amanda
