Coues 'n' Sheep Report post Posted March 26, 2009 Mr.J ..... ... Wow, man have you been wronged or harmed by a Mormon??? You sound so bitter.... I mean I feel that way about Muslims, cuz they came into my Country and killed innocent people on our soil.... but thier base religion is not what I hate.... it is the Fanatics that now call themselves Muslim. As for the Catholics... yes, they have condoned the molesting of children by simply moving the "Predators" to jobs overseas or away from children.... ... not excommunicating or truely punishing them. This country was born on the concept of being able to practice, freely, religion.... I don't care if you are Budist, Hindu, Muslim, Baptist, Catolic, Lutheran, Jehovah’s Witness, Mormon, or anything else... just don't try to oppress you beliefs on me....if I am currious or interested I'll ask! AZMEAT.... Let me say that there is more reasons why I don't go to church.... I would be a hypocrite if I did... I am a sinner... I love to Drink and Swear and go to Bars.... and I just can't drag myself into a church for worship and as for forgiveness... I don't want forgiveness and I am not ready to give up my vices.... I have a very good handle on my personal beliefs, and what I call a good relationship with God, for which he has blessed me many times over in life, I believe. I am very happy for those that do go to church each week and religion has made the difference in there lives... I have literally seen church make the foulest of men, good men. I, however, having lived my entire life in a melting pot community have been under many church roofs for many reasons... and I respect all of those Houses of God and the people who run them... What I love about the Mormon folks I know is that they, more so than any other, accept my choices in how I choose to worship and don't continually oppress or try to impress their faith on me with quotes, or insinuations.... of all the religious folks I know the Mormons don't look down their noses or pass judgement on other religious folks. We can all find holes, inconsistencies, and so on, in the religions of the world.... look at the works of the Free Masons for example.... ...that stuff sure scares the Church!! Furthermore, God and the Good Book say nothing of you judging anyone.... it only tells you how you should try to model yourself and your relationship with God and Family... and that is up to your interpretaion! Oh... and the guy... asked for prayers... many of you seem to be above praying for anyone who asks it of you???? There are people who pray for murderers before they are executed and you guys can't pray for another (parallel) faith??? Is that Christian right there??? TLH Report post Posted March 26, 2009 For as many reasons i like the church there are just as many for those who do not like the church--personally i am good with that--too bad others are not good with what i or others think. I have been Mormon my whole life--born into the church and i have been through everything but being married in the Temple--why?? Because i married a Catholic girl that i still love after 28 years--never once has the Mormon church try to convert her because they know she has a faith that she believes in and as long as she believes in God and treat people with respect and love she is just as good if not better than some who goes to my church. I have had "friends" tell me i would go to heck if i didn't get born again--i gotta tell ya, once your born you are born and if you lose the love of the lord then i guess you need to be born again--i have not lost my love for the lord so i do not feel like i need to be "saved" for those of you who have lost your faith and now found it then i truly admire you! I do not judge--i will not judge--you are what you are and i am what i am and that is how this country was founded--let it be folks and lets think about hunting for a while. You judged me on another thread and when I called you on it you replied "I'm sure you will get over it" This site has turned into a joke. Same ol people being passive aggressive and then draggin people into the mud. Don’t worry TLH I’m no longer talking about you. Bottom line is we can all agree on something and that is we all love hunting. Why cant we focus on that?
Hunter X Report post Posted March 26, 2009 After reading all this I thought it over and came to this conclusion. Polygamy is not that bad of an idea. Think about it guys and gals you can have one wife to do the shopping, one for the cleaning, and one for the kid raising. The man of the house would do all the yard work and fix things that need fixing. Whoever could get the best job would be the money maker but everyone could help out with this one if they can. Seriously as long as the people entering the union are willing and of the proper age Polygamy seems like a good idea. All the chores would be done quicker and you'd have way more free time with the family and for things like...mmmm.....I don't know..... Hunting??? I don't know why the idea is looked down on and not even giving a chance now that I think about it with an open mind. I'm not the best when it comes to scripture but I think Moses was a polygamist don't know for sure but I think he was. Who are we to judge or take away someone's free will. Seriously stop and think about with an open mind. Polygamy isn't half bad.. In fact its all good brothers and sisters of the forum. Its all about the love the bigger the better. Brian Payne Report post Posted March 26, 2009 This was obviously not the place for iwannakillsomething to try to defend his religion or push it on other people, however you see it. This thread has been detrimental to the relationships of the members of this site. I could see this coming and that is why I posted my original post. I would like to attempt to control this topic before it gets out of hand and people are offended using the following points. 1. I am sure that there are many different religions and faiths represented by the members of this forum. I don't beleive that we wan't to get into a conversation about "wierd" doctrinal beliefs or "dirt" on churches because every church or faith has them and it could get ugly fast. 2. We need to be careful with stereotyping because general statements like "mormons are good folks" or anything stating the character of an entire group are rarely true. 3. Finally, although we may share different religious beleifs on this site we do all share a common love for hunting, the outdoors, and wildlife. Too often we focus on our differences that drive us apart instead of creating the unity to stand up against those that fight to destroy our sport. Thanks for reading and let's make sure we remain respectful of peoples most charished and sacred beliefs whether we agree with them or not. You're right!! A bunch of you SHOULD be ashamed of yourselves!! I agree 100% with that statement!! I agree 100% also Scottyboy, that is why I appologized. This is an invitation to the members of this site LDS or not to end this thread now like should have been done a long time ago.

Sorry buddy--i was having a bad day when i responded to your PM to me--i then saw that you were having a bad day or two yourself and i want to apologize to you if i offended you in any way--i made a general comment on that post not one directed to you personally but i think you took it as i was speaking to you personally. Once again buddy--i am sorry if i offended you in any way. This site is not a joke--it is a great site--as far as this thread goes--this too shall pass! Good luck on the draw! CouesWhitetail Report post Posted March 26, 2009 Thanks to all who tried to keep this thread civil. Here is my suggestion to you all: In the words of Gandhi..."be the change you wish to see in the world" If you don't want to read about religion on this forum, don't read the posts. If you don't want to see "fighting" in the forum, don't get engaged in the fight. If you want to see a productive thread, add a productive post. If you want to see a civil discussion of religion on the forum, be civil in your posts. If you want to see only hunting discussed on this forum, only create and post in hunting related threads. Everyone in this forum can choose to not open this or any other thread and not post to it. Many of you have done just that. A little self control goes a long way. I appreciate all who try and keep CouesWhitetail.com a positive and productive place. I have mentioned this before, but please remember that when you post online that people cannot see your body language and therefore can misinterpret your words. So much of our communication depends on body language and the internet makes that difficult (emoticons help to some degree). It is way too easy to take offense at something written in the forum. It's always helpful to take a step back before posting in anger or when taking offense at something written here. Amanda

stanley Report post Posted March 26, 2009 The owner of the site has given all of us extraordinary words of wisdom! Kilimanjaro Report post Posted March 26, 2009 After I say this, I'm done with this thread.. Bird dog, the reason some folks on here have to use passive agressivness as a technique is for the survival of the post!! I for one, wasn't knowingly using any passive agressive techniques, but had I said what I REALLY wanted to, I would have been tarred, feathered, and then banished from the community for hurting too many feelings!! Biting my tongue is hard for me, although "arguing" on a webite such as this is like stepping into a boxing ring and then taking 50% swings with those oversized gloves on!! If folks here were allowed to say what they REALLY wanted to, it'd be a bareknuckled alley brawl!! But that wouldn't get anything accomplished but pissing eachother off severely. You can tell what people are trying to convey in their statements..with or without the "padding".. It was all of our's responsibility to keep this as civil as possible, and to that we all have been successful. As I said, I'm through with this thread, but I stand by everything I said and have no reason to apologize to anyone.. I never disrepected anyone, nor anyone's beliefs anywhere on this thread. Nor have I seen anyone else disrepect anyone on here. To state hard fact or ask for hard fact is not slinging mud (athough some make it out to be). I'm off to scout for my 27 muzz tag!!
