I grew up playing with snakes we caught, bitten many times .,hardest part was disengaging from the rear facing teeth so you didn’t hurt the snake. The pics looks lots like the yong gophers I find, I guess I haven’t encountered a night snake yet. The young king snakes are the grouchiest as far as biting that I find, but they all eat the vermin so they get a free pass . The buzztails , not so much .
