Salt river above Roosevelt question

Recommended Posts

Does anybody know who to contact to get trash cans put back at the spill way? They removed the trash cans last year and people just bag their trash up now and leave it all down the bank, or burn it and leave it all over the place,  the river and the banks are filthy, just wondering who would be the contact for this?

That’s the value we get for buying our Tonto passes…

Don’t they hire a third party to do all that work anyway?

Maybe to haul it off. I remember when they started charging to park at Canyon under the guise that employees were not paid very much and the charge was to be applied for increased wages.

Third Party is the way to go. Put it out to bid on a five year contract. Have a small staff to manage it as part of their regular roles.

Yeah, the third party should just be the forest service and cut out the middle Man

FS employees get bennies and pensions. No need for that with 3rd party. Write a contract with T&C's that is just a couple of pages and not 15 or 30.

They'll probably tell you that you don't need a tonto pass there like Indian point so they don't have to maintain it..

Stayed at Windy Hill 3 nights last week and I’m assuming maintenance is done in house. Saw 4-5 green people huddled under one of the ramadas one afternoon BSing. Campgrounds were well taken care of but yeah they probably don’t venture far from the shade this time of year.

They want you to have a Tonto Pass but there are no trash bins or toilets at Bermuda Flat. No fish cleaning stations open that I've seen in years at Cholla or other main rec sites (please correct me if I'm wrong). I saw a lot of people not purchasing passes because of the circumstances.
