Meathunter Report post Posted April 15 I threw a bunch of little ones back. Every other fish was a keeper. It does suck that the lakes going to go dry if we don’t get some rain.
trphyhntr Report post Posted April 15 I don’t think rain can help much but maybe. The snow pack in New Mexico was trash this year. Only hope is enough water stays in the lake that they all don’t die and get weather next year I think. It was running out pretty good today

Go figure. Should be a limit on how low a lake can be drained,by human causes. Where I fished two weeks ago and caught most of my fish was out of the water Sunday. I actually pulled my boat up on the little rocky area next to the small tree I was fishing next to. Really hard for the fish to spawn like that. . Coves will go down and the nest will be out of water. . sad sad sad. Good thing that I know Talkalai so well. Hopefully it will always be there
Roofer Billy Report post Posted April 15 Down 14 vertical inches in 3 days . I thought the whole reason for the CAP canal was to supply Tucson casa grande eloy Coolidge and whoever water. Years ago there was a lake called picacho lake somewhere by Coolidge I think . And my Dad would take me there. I would sit with a cane pole and catch crappie all day. While Dad duck hunted. It's gone now. Someone definitely needs to put a stop to this shoot. Mother nature is mother nature and we can't change that. But dang the Human race needs to wake the frick up and see what where doing. I want to be able to go on here 20 years from now. And read one of my grandchildrens post that they went to San Carlos lake and caught more fish then ever in there life time
trphyhntr Report post Posted April 15 They don’t even sell the water, they have no claim to the water. If the farmers want it, they get it. At least that’s what the us fish and wildlife guy that was electro shocking there today told me. there’s some rumor going around apparently that they’re going to keep 10% in the lake, was told that’s not true. I also don’t think people realize it’s only about 15% full right now

I also don’t think people realize it’s only about 15% full right now My Dad told me that in 1974 it was almost completely full and is bigger then Roosevelt. And they use to fish near the railroad tracks. And in the lava beds. In my life time I have never seen it more the 40 percent. I was born in 1994. When the lake was drained. My Dad stood by the dam and the water was at his knees. He looked at Me and said that ,that day was probably the last day He would ever be able to fish there again . Now years later it's back better then ever and they going to destroy it again . Where's Trump when You need Him😂
trphyhntr Report post Posted April 15 We fished near the rail road bridge in the early 90s. something about that lake is like steroids for fish. Probably because it’s always new lake effect. Problem now is no water and no threadfin.
