GRONG Report post Posted March 20, 2009 Went back to the stompin grounds to try my luck again this last Saturday. Watched a few bulls that morning without horns and several with. After they went off to bed me and Gail started our search. Couple hours went by and I finally came up with this busted antler..... Never did match it up but eventually found this nice 6pt. It's about 3-4 years old and chalked but I had to carry it out. Can't believe I never found it before but that's horn huntin. As it lay picture of an oldie, thought it was pretty neat. More ziggin and zaggin and almost 4PM I was working a ridge and walked near the edge and I jumped a bull from his bed and he didn't have any antlers. I'd already busted 2 out in the canyon without antlers and I came up empty so I stood there and looked about 40 yards to my left and theres 2 browns laying there!!!!! Man was I pumped. It had rained the day before and I followed the brand new tracks from the antlers right to the bed. He had just dropped them that morning!!! How cool is that??!?! I happened to see this bull the weekend before too so that made it that much neater. Enjoy Yes, pictures have been cropped. No gimmes here!

cramerhunts Report post Posted March 20, 2009 Awesome job Josh! I love finding them when you can still see their tracks or know that they have just been dropped, pretty cool feeling! Man I can't wait to get back up there. Phil
daryl_s Report post Posted March 20, 2009 Sweet finds...the morning of????? That's just insane. Not only are the pictures cropped, but there is no grong orange either. That would be a dead give away to your spot if anybody sees you. I do remember someone mentioning a while back in a post about someone wearing camo while shed hunting. I actually plan on wearing desert colored clothing when I go look for a certain bucks sheds this year because it's in a pretty plain area and I plan on going after this buck this year.
