68OLDS Report post Posted Wednesday at 04:12 AM Thanks for sharing Mr. HARRIS. The petition brought forth by the CBD is outrageous. I cannot attend Friday due to work but emailed my opposition to the commission. Everyone should take a moment to read the petition to see the false claims from the anti hunting lobby. Make your voice heard fellow hunters and outdoorsmen.
Rharris Report post Posted Wednesday at 10:55 AM The Arizona Game and Fish Commission meets next week on Friday the 11th at Department Headquarters beginning at 8 am. Here is the Agenda. Item 3 is the Petition by Center for Biological Diversity and others to Amend A.A.C. R12-4-318 Seasons for Lawfully Taking Wild Mammals, Birds, and Reptiles, and A.A.C. R12-4-304 Lawful Methods for Taking Wild Mammals, Birds, and Reptiles. Here are the two Petitions. The CBD, Mountain Lion Foundation, Lobos of the Southwest, Wildlife for All, and others want the Commission to eliminate hound hunting, pursuit seasons and GPS tracking of dogs. Here is a link to the March 4th webinar preparing their supporters for the April Commission meeting. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1djWBu5UK9KYU8l1Nayqzk7GSMUYyUQ4N/view?pli=1 What can you do? Conserve and Protect AZ (CPAZ) has prepared an action alert summarizing the issues and detailing responses and action to support the Commission. Here is the CPAZ Action Alert. CPAZ’s Chuck Podolak and AZ Working Dog Alliance’s Chris Smith also recently participated in a podcast with HOWL. Here is the link. https://www.howlforwildlife.org/howlcast At first glance one might think this is simply about hound hunting for lions and bears, it’s not. It is another salvo against hunting, regardless of the species, and irrespective of the methods. The playbook tries to chip away at processes, the lifestyle, the methods, and the entire sport; all the while using the effort as a fundraising mechanism. So whether or not you own dogs or hunt with them, ALL Arizona sportsmen and women need to let the anti’s know they are literally in a dog fight! At the same time, let our Commission know you have their backs on this issue, too.

wildwoody Report post Posted Wednesday at 02:09 PM So am I correct, the Falkiners are the ones pushing this. If so screw them. Ill shoot there bird. Haha. Hunting is going away fast. I thought James G. Was good for us.
68OLDS Report post Posted Wednesday at 04:53 PM It's not the falconers. It's a coalition of anti-hunters and extreme lobbyists lead by the Center For Biological Diversity. Even if you think this does not have any effect on you because maybe you aren't a dog hunter, this has a potential to impact us all as hunters. Read the petition its completely baseless and relies on zero data to support their claims. I will be listening online and you have my support R Harris.

Hunting is going away fast. I thought James G. Was good for us. The falconers are not pushing this. There were several falconers at the last GFD meeting to spoke to oppose this. One drove in from New Mexico. Uplands hunters also stood against this along with the bear and lion hunters.
