40ft hi cube shipping container for sale

Recommended Posts

I have a 40 ft hi cube shipping container for sale i just bought 2 months ago. Santa cruz county says i cannot have it. Althoigh they have not enforced that rule on any property. And they are everywhere but we got a formal complaint from neighboring property. It is leak proof and dry. Seals are good and wind proof. Very good floor. Asking $4000.00. It is in elgin/sonoita and you must pick up and haul.

Put mobile home axels underneath it and ad a trailer hitch. Once it's a trailer..... Not a violation. It becomes a 40' box trailer.😁

Verify first any trailer restrictions.

Reminds me of how cochise county is down here.  Won't let you live in an RV but you can for 2 years while building a house.  Then people build these ridiculous looking tiny homes that are ten times the eyesore the RV woulda been.

We were going to do that but because our land is vacant we are not allowed trailers or anything at all.

Is it a sq ft violation? We have a cabin in Payson and I spoke to them about putting a 40' on our property and they said no, without a permit and plans, because it was over 300sqft. I then asked them if I could put a 20' and they said yes. When I asked how many 20's I could put they said as many as I want as long as I pay 50$ and submit a property plan with locations of conex's on it. Perhaps worth looking into if you need a conex. heck do 2 of them just to piss off the neighbor who called you in.

Build a small house or put a small house trailer/mobile on the property?

Or, turn part of the container, a front section away from the doors, into liveable space? Lots of examples on line.

Put siding on the outside to dress it up as a shed?

Mesa will allow one if you make it look like a shed.

This all sounds good but no good per their guidelines. However we are asking now about siding or fencing it in. Sad thing is everyone has them out there and they say they don't have the resources to inforce them. We are being enforced because the neighbor made a complaint about ours. She live across the road even.

Like dude mentioned above is it a square foot issue could you like cut it in half and make it two units?

In any case 4K sounds like a good price because I hear most people pay more than that these days so I will let some of my customers know. Do you have any idea who would haul something like that and what it might cost to get it to the let's say Hereford area?

Ok I went thru this same thing cause you said your land is vacant right? How many acres do you have ?  And do you have any farm animals  ?

We have 5 acres and no animals. We have chickens here at the house. And were getting things set up to get permits to live in 5th wheel while we build.

It is not a square ft issue. I do know a guy that can move it. I don't knkw what he may charge to go to hereford. He did tell me that he would haul it to near by areas for around 450 bucks.

Try talking to the Neighbor? Ask her what will make her happy? It's probably too late for this but it wouldn't hurt to befriend her for down the road if you are going to keep the property?
