I had a great first day of my season in between storms with @trphyhntr. We were the only crappie guys on the lake.

I'd read here from Dan that SC stocked crappies. I believed them a couple minutes in and would bet the boat they were blacknose. All but 3 on the table were bn and they are looking great for the spawn. Thank you to them for the stocking and I hope they sell some licenses for the ROI. I'll be back.

Great day. This dude is the crappie master.

Great day is an understatement and trphy is a top notch copilot.

He was early to the ramp, brought his own minnows, and as I encountered a fuel tank connection issue right off the bat he says, "F it let's just fish right here then." Can't ask for more than that, except leaving me stranded netting triples by myself a few times lol jkjk most of time he was reeling in one for himself.

Yea a good chunk of the day looked like this.

The bite was good enough for quads but I received a light dip on minnows. I normally use a two-rod double tandem but left my short rod with a single rig on Sunday.

What's the significance of the second pic?

Bloody veins in the egg sack are getting ripe for the spawn. They are close to spawning for March 9 and water temp only 55F. I typically see this 3-4 weeks later. Maybe it is stable weather, maybe it is blacknose, I don't know but I'm excited for a productive spawn and hope SC holds water.
