Jalt Report post Posted Thursday at 02:47 AM I was fortunate to draw a San Carlos spring turkey hunt, April 4th thru the 12th and looking for some assistance on traveling on the tribal land roads and even possible good camp sites. Currently looking at both Point of Pines and even further northeast towards Malay Gap, which from what I see on OnXHunt could be 50 to 65 plus miles off the main roads. My hunt will be solo, and though I will be driving my trust 2001 Tundra 4x4 like to hear from anyone who's hunted on San Carlos and their experience from their travels. wildwoody Report post Posted Thursday at 02:58 AM Git the 3/21 hunt I will let you know. But camping is just a permit. And be extra respectful. And you will have a great time
Swivelhead Report post Posted Thursday at 04:47 AM SCAR has legendary mud when wet. Roads are generally good if dry. Either way, you'll have a blast.
Azelkreaper Report post Posted yesterday at 02:41 AM Here are a couple of pointers. 1. There is no cell phone service. A satellite communicator is a must or a newer phone that can text over satellite 2. roads are terrible when wet. Bring everything you need to get yourself unstuck. Traction boards, come-along etc. 3. Be bear aware and smart in your camp. Have bumped into a few over the years and seems to be happening more often 4. Have your tag on you at all times. They will check it every time they see you. Even if you just passed them 10 mins prior. Good luck 4
